As the Philippines and the rest of the world continue to fight global public health issues, various companies are making sure that they are fully equipped to handle any challenges that may arise which include lengthy lockdowns and other strategies that would devastate the economy.

 

In addition, there’s little doubt that the exponential pace of technology innovation will continue, creating the opportunity for one of the most exciting periods of positive change and progress in history.

 

Many companies will need to transform their business systematicallyand leaders have learned they need speed and agility to outpace change and succeed.

 

Regarding B2B, we need to acknowledge that the B2B sales environment has fundamentally shifted. It’s no longer just about getting in front of a decision-maker and making a good first impression; it’s about a buying relationship built on openness and bi-directional value creation.

 

Let’s take a look at two observations from the field.

 

Rebalancing of control between buyers and sellers

 

The B2B buyer is more in control of the sales journey than ever before. Buyers are also savvier about where they get their information. And the sellers? They’re fully aware that they’ll have to largely trash their playbooks and embrace the new rules of winning sales through influence.

 

Blurring boundaries within industries

 

The market demands a highly interoperable environment where multiple parties contribute to deliver and consume compelling products and services. Now the challenge: Most companies’ systems weren’t designed to empower sellers with helpful insights from customers, enterprises, and ecosystem data.

Focusing on the future of CRM, it’s critical to understand that marketing and sales are just the edges of an end-to-end process which starts with creating a marketing campaign to closing the sale.

 

Here’s my IDEA of the future of engineered selling: IDEA stands for Intelligent, Data, Ecosystem, Architecture.

 

Intelligence is about filtering the noise to increase productivity of the sellers. This is the realm of automation and AI.

 

Data is about creating a modern data foundation and taking advantage of it. It requires breaking silos. This treasury has never been monetized enough.

 

Ecosystem enablement. Critical in the B2B world is the interoperability with partners, customers, and capabilities such as partners’ experience, onboarding, and enablement.

 

Architecture. We’ve been doing Technology Vision, a trends report, for 22 years. In 2013, we declared that Every business is a digital business, then we highlighted that every business is a technology business, and in our recent issue that every business is a metaverse business. In this context, architecture matters more than ever.

Acer unveils Eco-Conscious Vero Line with the Acer Chromebook Vero 514

 


Acer unveils the new Acer Chromebook Vero 514 – the first Chromebook in its line of eco-conscious Vero devices that reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability by offering consumers and commercial customers more options that allow them to reduce their ecological footprint. The new Acer Chromebook Vero 514 (CBV514-1H/T) features a thoughtful design that takes the entire product lifespan into consideration, since it is easy to upgrade, repair, disassemble and recycle. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

The new Acer Chromebook Vero 514 broadly integrates the use of PCR plastic with 30% in its chassis and screen bezel, and 50% in the keycaps and speakers. Playpark’s Dream of a New World announces closed Beta test, offers new adventures

 


It's official! Playpark’s newest mobile RPG title Dream of a New World (DNW) will open the doors of Mulland for a Closed Beta Test (CBT) starting August 31 - September 5, 2022. During this time, pre-registered players will be able to experience the Beta version of the game together with their friends. Do note that there will be a server wipe after the CBT.

 

The CBT comes after the limited-capacity Alpha Test conducted last July 21 - 24, 2022. The PlayPark DNW Team, working with the developers from Archosaur Games, have incorporated the improvements from the Alpha Test in order to bring the game one step closer to its grand launch. And to celebrate the Closed Beta, the team has lined up a lot of in-game and community activities for the pioneer Dreamers who will take their first steps into the world of Mulland!

 

All pre-registered participants who play during the CBT duration will receive the exclusive ‘CBT Pioneer’ signature for claiming during the official launch of the game. There will be stretch goals containing more rewards, costumes, and a title if the milestones are met! You can still pre-register on Play Store or App Store to join the Closed Beta Test. Filipino Delegates Joined Huawei AP Seeds for the Future, starting an inspired digital journey

Huawei launched Asia Pacific Seeds for the Future 2022 last Friday (August 19). The program will bring together 120 outstanding students from 16 countries across the Asia Pacific region for a 9-day digital boot camp in Thailand, including 10 students from the Philippines. From August 19 to 27, ten Filipino delegates who are ready to demonstrate their talent and abilities will join the journey this year.

The opening ceremony was attended by both local government officials and representatives of multiple international organizations. They highlighted the important role multi-party collaboration plays in creating a solid foundation for the region's digital talent ecosystem.

Secretary-General of ASEAN, H.E. Dato Lim Jock Hoi stressed that digital talent will be the driving force in the construction of a Digital ASEAN: “The private sector can play a pioneering role in realising this vision. In this regard, I commend Huawei Asia Pacific’s initiative: Seeds for the Future Program. This project underscores the long-term commitment of Huawei to collaborate and prepare the ASEAN youth for the changing world of work and industry’s demands. I hope that such efforts could also be extended to the other ASEAN Member States.”

Executive Director of ASEAN Foundation, Dr. Ms. Yang Mee Eng said: “The growth of ASEAN Digital Economy is entirely dependent on the capability of the region’s young people to participate in it. To nurture a generation of digitally savvy and innovative problem solvers, it is pivotal for stakeholders of ASEAN to create a robust learning ecosystem that allows our youth to advance their digital skills.”

Director for the ICT Industry Development Bureau of DICT in the Philippines, Ms. Emmy Lou V. The participants will get immersed in technologies and cross-cultural experiences, and propose technical solutions to address social problems through Tech4Good projects. 56 of the 120 participants this year are women, making the 2022 cohort the most gender-balanced in the region since the program initiated.

Asia Pacific Seeds for the future 2022 is not only about knowledge learning but also about how to transform ideas into initiatives and projects that will provide a decent, quality, and happy life for all. Deputy Minister of Education of Thailand Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich agreed that “The Seeds for the Future program is important for students interested in ICT and digital technologies as it fills the gap between theory and practice. The Ministry of Education envisions a greater focus on morals and ethics, whereas education should also emphasize digital skills. This is regarded as the most significant development in the Thai education sector; boosting the quality of education, in all forms, to advance education to a global level.”

President of Huawei Asia Pacific Mr. Simon Lin reiterated Huawei's own commitment to talent development: "The 'seeds' represent hope, passion, and future. As the corporate-level flagship CSR project with the longest history, this program has been brought to nearly 140 countries and regions, reaching over 12,000 students from 500 universities. The ‘Seeds’ have grown to a global forest.” “Digitalization is the driving force for our future. Talent is the key to digital transformation and sustainable growth. We deeply believe that the young generation will grow as the constructors of Asia Pacific when pursuing their tech-dreams. Simon Lin added.

The opening ceremony was ended with 16 Seeds representatives performing a song “Dream it Possible” together in their own languages.

From today, they would embark on a cultural and digital journey filled with site visits including the United Nations Regional Hub in Bangkok, the Metaverse Expo, and the Grand Palace in Bangkok. At the same time, the participants will be provided training in cutting-edge technologies like 5G, AI, and cloud computing from industry-leading experts.

During the digital camp, the participants will be expected to team up and create a "Tech4Good" pitch where they will share their visions for a better digital world. The winning teams will be given a place in an accelerator camp in Singapore that will be held from August 29 to September 4. This camp will give them the opportunity to meet top-notch entrepreneurs and investors and further develop their initiatives and bring their ideas to the market.

Seeds for the Future is Huawei's flagship Corporate Social Responsibility program that brings together young talent from top universities around the world. Huawei Philippines launched the program in 2015 to inspire ICT talent and encourage them to tackle social challenges with digital solutions. As of the end of 2021, the program had been reaching over 200 students from over 30 universities in the country.

SB19, Parokya Ni Edgar rocks the MOA Arena during Acer Day 2022 The Green Mark Concert

It was a night to remember as world-class talents showcased their musicale repertoire in an event with a good cause. 

Acer Day 2022 ambassadors, led by P-pop kings SB19 performed to a huge crowd at the SM MOA Arena but what made the event even more special is that the Acer Day 2022: The Green Mark Concert was put up to spread awareness on how to save the environment.

The event was a huge success and made the good kind of noise from start to finish. #AcerDay2022 trended locally and worldwide on Twitter and has over 2.4 million views on TikTok!

 

Instead of selling tickets to the concert, Acer enjoined fans to do sustainable acts, such as buying products from Acer’s sustainable line, Aspire Vero; donating to GreenEarth Heritage Foundation, and collecting cleaned, washed, and dried plastic waste and dropping them off at The Plaf, a social enterprise that recycles plastic.

 

The Acer Day 2022: The Green Mark Concert raised Php1.38M for the GreenEarth Heritage Foundation and 20 metric tons of plastic waste compensation for The Plaf.

 

The phenomenal group SB19 opened the show strong with Acer’s song “Live It Up”, followed by charismatic P-pop group KAIA who performed “KAYA.”

 

Singer-songwriter Adie serenaded the audience with “Mahika” and “Paraluman” while the lovely Janina Vela performed her latest song, “Hello Stranger.”

 

Predator Gaming Philippines ambassadors and musicians CLR, Awi, and Yow had a jam session while indie rock band SUD performed their hit songs, “Baliw” and “Sila.”

Parokya ni Edgar led by Chito Miranda partied with the audience with the group’s timeless hits, “Buloy,” Para Sa Iyo,” Harana,” Halaga,” “Inuman Na”, and “Your Song.” Lucky audience members got to perform with them for “Pangarap Lang Kita” and “Bagsakan.”

 

Finally, SB19 did not disappoint fans who waited all day by performing their debut song “Tilahula”, hit songs “What?,” “SLMT”, and “Mapa.” They also closed the show with their new song for Acer titled “Make Your Green Mark”, co-written by the group’s very own Pablo. PH Digicon 2022 to offer boundless insight into digital transformation



 PLDT Enterprise will again stage the country’s most prestigious thought leadership event, the Philippine Digital Convention (PH Digicon), tackling the latest technology trends, emerging innovations, and insights to help businesses maximize opportunities and prosper.
