Acer Retains Worldwide Chromebook Lead in Q3 2016 with 47% YoY Growth

According to recent data from Gartner, Acer has retained the lead in worldwide Chromebook market share in Q3 2016 at 28%1 with a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 47%. Since launching its first Chromebook in 2011, Acer has made huge strides in the segment, exemplified by its leading worldwide market share positions throughout 2015, and highest total shipments over the first three quarters of 2016.

But as Chromebooks become ever more popular, with Chromebooks out selling Macbooks for the first time in early 2016 in the U.S., and showing a YoY worldwide market growth of 46%1 in Q3 2016, competition is heating up among PC vendors to capitalize on his trend. Acer has proven its continued commitment and capabilities to offer new and more compelling Chromebooks for consumers and commercial customers alike, including those with premium designs, convertible form factors, longer battery life and improved performance to name a few.
